Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Is ‘Chock Full’ of Sonic 2

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 director Jeff Fowler has said that fans can expect to see plenty of references to the original Sonic 2 video game in the upcoming movie. Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 levels or references featured in the sequel movie.

The movie features Tails, who was first seen in the second game, and Knuckles, who was introduced in the third game, so would there be anything else from their respective games? “Oh yeah, all kinds,” he replied.

“One of them was in the trailer, of course, the bi-plane Tornado. It’s such an iconic visual from Sonic 2,” he said. The Tornado, first introduced in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, is a prominent part of the Sky Chase Zone, and will hopefully provide a memorable sequence in the movie.

Fowler would not provide any more details about other game references, but did note that fans can expect many more. “As we were setting out to plot Sonic 2, we all got really excited about just pulling that great imagery that all the fans are going to get excited about seeing on the big screen, and just creating a real cinematic version of the stuff that fans have loved from Sonic 1 and Sonic 2.”

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Character Posters Spotlight Sonic

Get ready, everyone's favorite blue hedgehog is coming back to theaters this spring. In anticipation of Sonic the Hedgehog 2's release on April 8, fans have been treated to three new character posters of everyone's favorite animal heroes.

The first poster features the star of the film Sonic the Hedgehog, voiced by Ben Schwartz, with his trademark blue speed lines behind him. The new poster also features the tagline "License 2 Quill", a fun play on words that combines the James Bond tagline of "license to kill" with a reference to Sonic's quills.

The second poster gives Sonic's sidekick Tails the spotlight — it also gives Tails' voice actress Colleen O'Shaughnessey the spotlight too. O'Shaughnessey is the only person from the Sonic franchise to reprise a role for these films; she has been voicing Tails in video games and shows since 2014 and voiced the character in the after-credits scene for the first film. The poster also includes the tagline of "Ready 2 Kick Tail". Lastly, the third poster features Knuckles the Echidna, voiced by Idris Elba, readying up to throw hands with the tagline "Time 2 Punch In". This film will be Knuckles' first appearance outside the video games and animated shows.

The new film picks up where the first left off, with Sonic emboldened by defeating the evil Dr. Robotnik and trying to become a hero. However, when Dr. Robotnik returns — with a new ally in Knuckles — in search of a powerful item that could threaten the world, Sonic must team up with his new friend Tails to stop them and, along the way, truly prove that he has what it takes to be a hero.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is directed by Jeff Fowler, who returns after directing the first film. Pat Casey and Josh Miller, who also wrote the first film, return to write the sequel with John Whittington based on a story by Casey and Miller. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is based on the SEGA Video Game franchise and is produced by Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara, and Hitoshi Okuno with Haruki Satomi, Yukio Sugino, Shuji Utsumi, Nan Morales, and Tim Miller serving as executive producers.

Check out the new Sonic the Hedgehog 2 posters below and see the film when it comes exclusively to theaters on April 8, 2022.

New Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Movie For Longtime Fans Of the Games

A brand-new Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie poster is officially here, and it's a treat for longtime fans of the series.

IGN can exclusively reveal the new poster, which is evocative of classic genre films like Star Wars in the way that it matches its heroes with the movie's best action sequences. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and of course, Dr. Robotnik, are all present, as are the film's human heroes, played by James Marsden and Tika Sumpter.

Fans of the games will no doubt feel a bit of nostalgia looking at some of the images from the poster, which particularly draw on Sonic's 16-bit heritage. Tail's plane can be seen evading Robotnik's missiles, and Sonic and Knuckles are clearly clashing over a Chaos Emerald.

In general, the sequel seems like it will lean more into Sega's source material than the original released in 2020, which was a roadtrip film and sci-fi fish out of water comedy that just happened to include the blue hedgehog.

"Sonic’s first foray into live-action is a fast-paced joyride that’ll ring in entertainment for both fans and children," we said in our review of the first film.

Avatar to Become Third Biggest Movie Ever at Domestic Box Office

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” has officially unseated director James Cameron’s 2009 science-fiction epic “Avatar” to become the third-highest grossing domestic release in history.

After weeks of speculation over whether or not Peter Parker had the legs to bump the people of Pandora from bronze, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” collected the remaining $1 million on Monday to push “Avatar” — and its mighty $760.5 million at the North American box office — to fourth place in the record books.

Sony’s latest Spidey adventure, a culmination to Tom Holland’s web-slinging trilogy, has grossed a stunning $760.9 million at the domestic box office since launching exclusively in theaters in December. Those ticket sales are three times as much as the next highest-grossing movie of the pandemic era, which is Disney and Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” with $224 million.

For “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” the buck may stop here. It would require an additional $100 million in domestic ticket sales to catch “Avengers: Endgame” ($858 million) at the No. 2 spot and even more to match “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ($936 million) in first place. Nostalgia is a powerful force, but even that kind of comeback would be unlikely in the middle of a pandemic.

News Movie: https://cinecittacinema.org/

“Though ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ benefits from a much higher average ticket price than ‘Avatar,’ this does not detract from the enormity of this achievement coming during a pandemic-impacted marketplace,” says Paul Dergarabedian, a senior media analyst with Comscore. “It would have been unimaginable just a few months ago to think that the latest ‘Spider-Man’ film would even have a shot a leapfrogging over ‘Avatar,’ which has been a mainstay on box office Mt. Olympus for over a decade.”

Globally, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is the sixth-highest grossing movie of all time with $1.8 billion. Like its domestic competitors, Spidey’s cosmic challengers could remain beyond reach. That’s because the top five spots on world wide box office charts — consisting of “Avatar,” “Avengers: Endgame,” “Titanic,” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Avengers: Infinity War” — have each cracked $2 billion.

Without China, it may be unrealistic for “No Way Home” to reach that benchmark. So while Na’vi nation may have fallen in North America, “Avatar” will easily maintain its all-time global box office title with $2.802 billion.

Directed by Jon Watts, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” has cemented several box office benchmarks over the course of its impressive big-screen run. During opening weekend alone, the film landed the second-biggest domestic debut in history with $260 million and the third-largest global start ever with $600 million. Eventually, it became the first pandemic-era movie to cross $1 billion at the global box office.

The third chapter in Holland’s trilogy takes place after Spider-Man’s true identity is revealed to the world, igniting global chaos and upending the lives of everyone he loves. Desperate to restore normalcy, he asks for help from Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), whose spell goes wrong and leaves the teen web-slinger face-to-face with villains from alternate Peter Parker timelines, including Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, Jamie Foxx’s Electro and Alfred Molina’s Doctor Otto Octavius. Of course, those high-profile cameos weren’t the only reason behind the stratospheric demand to watch “No Way Home” in theaters.

Once Doctor Strange’s spell ripped open the multiverse, it paved way for previous Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire to share the screen with Holland in a crossover event for the ages.

Avatar at All-Time Domestic Box Office

Spider-Man: No Way Home is still behind Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars: The Force Awakens for the top two spots, Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to climb at the box office.

Director Jon Watts' Tom Holland–led Marvel sequel added more to its box office itally, reaching $760.988 million so far domestically, making it the third highest grossing movie domestically of all time, not adjusted for inflation.

It took the spot from James Cameron's 2009 movie Avatar. The No. 2 spot is still held by 2019's Avengers: Endgame, with the top spot owned by 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Worldwide, No Way Home has so far made $1.8 billion, and it hasn't even opened in China yet.

Holland, 25, has another new movie with Sony out this weekend, an adaptation of the PlayStation video games Uncharted, which also stars Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas.

The next entry in the Spider-Man universe is the long-delayed Jared Leto spin-off Morbius out April 1, and No Way Home's story branches off in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, in theaters May 6.

Facts About The Dursleys The Movies Left Out

The Dursleys are Harry Potter's neglectful guardians and the only family he has, but the books reveal just how horrible they really are. In the Harry Potter movies, the Dursleys are a despicable family who treats their nephew with nothing but contempt.

Their portrayal can often be comical, but the overall impression left to audiences is one of utter dislike.

Between their sickening reverence of their son, and their horrible treatment of their nephew, there is little about the Dursleys to find appealing. The book's portrayal of this family didn't give readers any more reason to like them. However, there are many details about the Dursleys that fans who only watched the movies will have missed out on that help paint a more complete picture of this problematic family.

They Were Physically Abusive

While the Dursleys were certainly unkind to Harry in the movies, the books reveal them to be downright abusive. Harry is all too used to avoiding them, once dodging a frying pan from Petunia, and always staying an arm's length from Vernon to avoid being hit.

These mentions of physical abuse show that Harry didn't just undergo unkind words, but actual violence. This contrasted with the picture-perfect image that they presented to their neighbors and revealed a more tragic perspective to Harry's childhood.

They Kept Harry Only To Protect Themselves

When Dumbledore leaves Harry on the Dursleys' doorstep, he also leaves a letter explaining how Lily and James were killed. He explains that Lily's sacrifice for Harry will continue to protect him and whomever he resides with, but only as long as he shares a home with Lily's blood relative.

While Petunia doesn't understand magic and its complexities, she fully understands that the forces that killed her sister could easily harm her and her family as well. Therefore, she agrees to take in her nephew, not for the love of her sister, but in order to protect her own family.

They Withheld Food In Order To Punish Harry

In the Chamber of Secrets movie, Harry is punished by being locked in his room with windows barred until he is rescued that night. In the book, three days pass before Harry escapes. During that time, Petunia serves Harry scanty amounts of food, such as a single piece of toast. By the time Harry is rescued, he is extremely hungry.

How Much He Made as Harry Potter

Since his debut as The Boy Who Lived in the Harry Potter movies, fans have wondered about Daniel Radcliffe’s net worth and the films that made him the multi-millionaire he is today.

Radcliffe whose full name is Daniel Jacob Radcliffe was born in London, England on July 23, 1989. His mother was a casting director, while his father was a literary agent. Both of his parents were also former child actors. In 2000, Radcliffe was cast as Harry Potter, a young wizard, in the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling‘s 1997 best seller, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which followed Harry and his friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, as they attended the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, while defending the wizarding world from Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard who killed Harry’s parents and wants to rule both the magical and non-magical universe.

Radcliffe was cast in the role after Chris Columbus—who directed the movie adaptation of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone—saw him in the 1999 BBC miniseries, David Copperfield. “This is what I want,” Columbus told The Independent in 2007. “This is Harry Potter.” Rowling also endorsed Columbus’ casting choice. “I don’t think Chris Columbus could have found a better Harry,” she said at the time.

Radcliffe along with Emma Watson and Rupert Grint (who played Harry’s friends, Hermione and Ron) went on to star in eight Harry Potter movies from 2001 to 2011. In November 2021, HBO Max announced that a reunion special titled Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts was in the works with Radcliffe, Watson and Grint, as well as dozens of other actors, directors and producers from the eight Harry Potter movies. The special, which premiered in January 2022, told “an enchanting making-of story through all-new, in-depth interviews and cast conversations,” according to HBO Max, and saw the original cast revisit Hogwarts, Diagon Alley and other iconic sets from the Harry Potter universe.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2021, Radcliffe looked back on the past 20 years of the Harry Potter movies. “I have really, really fond memories of all my scenes with Gary Oldman [who played Sirius Black] and David Thewlis [who played Remus Lupin,]” he said. “They were some of the first scenes on the third and the fifth film where I started to feel like I was a young man who was just starting to figure out what acting was, and they were pretty cool people to be around.”

So what is Daniel Radcliffe’s net worth and what did he make for the Harry Potter movies? Read on for how much Radcliffe is worth and how his salaries from the Harry Potter movies made him the multi-millionaire he is today.

How much is Daniel Radcliffe’s net worth?

How much is Daniel Radcliffe’s net worth? Radcliffe is worth $110 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Along with the $100-plus million he’s made from the Harry Potter movies.

Radcliffe’s net worth also includes the money he’s made from films like The Woman in Black, Kill Your Darlings, Victor Frankenstein, Swiss Army Man and Now You See Me 2, as well as  Broadway shows like Equus, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and The Cripple of Inishmaan. Radcliffe also stars on the TBS TV series Miracle Workers.

Radcliffe also owns his own theatre company, Gilmore Jacobs Ltd, with which was founded by his parents, Alan Radcliffe and Marcia Gresham, in 2000. According to Companies House, the company is worth £80 million, which is around $105 million in the United States.

In an interview with BBC in 2021, Radcliffe revealed the financial advice he’s followed since he was a kid. “This is something I was told by Will Steggle, my dresser in Potter — he said: ‘money should give you room to maneuver in your life, at best that’s is what it gives you — a bit of freedom to do what you like,’” he said. As for how he spends his $110 million net worth, Radcliffe told the “Full Disclosure” podcast in 2020 that he isn’t a big spender. “I’m not particularly extravagant. There are moments where I think, ‘Man, I’m really bad at being famous,'” he said.

He also told The Telegraph in 2016 that, while he doesn’t spend much, he’s still “grateful” for the money he has made from Harry Potter and other projects. “I’m very grateful for it, because having money means you don’t have to worry about it, which is a very lovely freedom to have,” he said. “It also gives me immense freedom, career-wise … For all the people who’ve followed my career, I want to give them something to be interested in, rather than them just watch me make loads of money on crap films for the rest of my life.”

The Meg 2 Has Finally Begun Filming

If you’re one of the many movie fans who are chomping at the bit for the sequel to The Meg, there’s good news. After several years of development, the Jason Statham-led shark thriller is closer than ever to becoming a reality. And now, it looks like it’s more real than ever – because The Meg 2 finally has a name.

When Jon Turtletaub’s aquatic blockbuster became the surprise hit of the summer in 2018, it was not a surprise that a sequel was quickly put into the works. Given the ongoing pandemic, it isn’t too much of a surprise that it’s taken more than three years for that sequel to get off the ground. Last year, Jason Statham updated fans and said the shark-infested sequel would start filming in early 2022. Sure enough, The Meg sequel began production in January. And now, according to Variety, it officially has a name – Meg 2: The Trench.

While the film’s title is short, it gives us a lot of clues. First of all, a lot of the action in the original film took place in the Mariana Trench, so we might be able to expect that the characters will return there for the sequel. But the significance of that title runs even deeper.

Some fans may not know that The Meg was adapted from Steve Alten’s 1997 thriller Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror. It looks like the upcoming sequel will follow a similar pattern – the follow-up to that novel was called The Trench. Whether or not the new movie will closely follow the plot of the book remains to be seen. But one thing seems certain: there will be megalodons. And they will be scary.

Besides the new title, and the confirmation that Jason Statham will be reprising his role as rescue diver Jonas Taylor, a few more details about the film have come to light. Last year, it was revealed that Jessica McNamee has been cast to play Taylor’s ex-wife in the sequel. And it's known that Jon Turtletaub will not be returning to helm the installment. Directorial duties have been passed to Ben Wheatley, of Netflix’s Rebecca and Free Fire fame, who hasn’t hidden how excited he is for the film’s massive production scale.

A lot of factors played a role in the 2018 feature's unexpected success. The world is a much different place than it was when we first got sight of that enormous shark on the big screen – but that doesn’t mean fans won’t return for another look. While we probably can’t expect Meg 2: The Trench to be one of 2022’s movie releases, if all goes well, we could be in for another thrill in the summer of 2023.
